Blue Hose Fall to Hampton

Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College softball team was defeated by Hampton in the third and final game of the weekend series on Sunday afternoon, 4-1. The loss brings PC to 10-23-2 on the season, 0-6 in the Big South.

 

Ansley Wilbanks led the Blue Hose offensively with a pair of singles. She now has a team-high 44 hits on the campaign. Courtney White stroked a double down the left field line in the bottom of the seventh to plate PC's lone run. Jonnie Petree and Casey Gerhard also tallied base hits on the day.

 

Alyssa Batastini pitched her 10th complete game of the season in the defeat. The redshirt junior allowed four runs (one earned) on five hits and two hits while collecting three strikeouts. Batastini is now 6-16 on the year.

 

The Blue Hose will return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they host Charleston Southern for a doubleheader. First pitch against the Buccaneers is slated for 2:00 p.m.
