SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Senior Erin Eulitz surpassed 1,000 career digs, but the Presbyterian College volleyball team fell 3-0 (26-24, 28-26, 25-17) at Wofford on Wednesday night at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The Blue Hose fall to 2-5, while the Terriers improve to 2-6.

Notables

-Eulitz led the Blue Hose with 12 digs in the contest to become the fifth player in PC's DI era (2007-present) to reach 1,000 career digs.

-Sophomores Erin Cooke and Lauren Talbert paced the Blue Hose attack with eight kills apiece. Fellow sophomore Trinity Williams chipped in seven on a team-best .462 hitting percentage.

-Junior Sierra Jones registered a team-high 17 assists, while Cooke added 11. Both Jones and Cooke have recorded double-digit assists in each of PC's seven contests.

How it Happened

-Neither team led by more than two points for the entirety of the first set. Wofford snatched a 24-22 advantage late, but Presbyterian fought off a pair of set points to even it up again at 24-24. The next two points went the way of the Terriers to clinch the set. The first set featured a total of 16 ties.

-In the second set, an early 4-0 run put the Blue Hose on top, 7-4. PC extended the margin to 9-5 before a six-point spurt gave the Terriers an 11-9 edge. Wofford built its advantage to as many as four, but the Blue Hose evened the score at 22-22 with a 6-2 run. The Terriers once again grabbed the lead late, and after PC withstood three set points, the hosts finished off the set, 28-26.

-Wofford jumped out to an 11-2 advantage to begin the third set. The Terriers extended the margin out to 19-7 before PC rattled off the next five points to trim the deficit to 19-12. The Blue Hose got as close as six points before Wofford ended the threat of a comeback.
