WILMINGTON, N.C. – Freshmen and sophomores combined to collect six singles wins and five doubles wins in the first fall event of the season for the Presbyterian College men's tennis team at the Seahawk Fall Invite. The event featured Coastal Carolina, Florida, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Gwinnett, North Florida, UNC Asheville, VCU, and host UNCW.
Notables
- PC posted an 8-10 overall record in singles play and 6-6 mark in doubles play for the weekend.
- Sophomore Max Benson grabbed a pair of wins in Singles Flight A, while fellow sophomore Oscar Alvarez had two victories of his own in Singles Flight C.
- Senior Jaime Castillo-Lopez and freshman Teo Cariov each picked up their first singles wins of the fall campaign in Flight D1 singles. It was the first collegiate singles victory for Cariov, who was making his collegiate debut at the event.
- Sophomore Jonathan Bedard and junior Alberto Conde snagged a win apiece in Flight D2 singles.
- In doubles play, the duo of Benson and Castillo-Lopez won a pair of matches in Flight C, while the team of Bedard and Cariov picked up a pair of victories in Flight D.
- Alvarez and junior Daniel Stenger grabbed one win in Flight B, while Conde paired up with Coastal Carolina's Juan Castellanos for a victory in Flight D.
