Men's Tennis Opens Three-Match Homestand on Saturday

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team returns to Clinton on Saturday afternoon to begin a three-match homestand. The Blue Hose host Belmont on Saturday and North Carolina A&T on Sunday.

COACH RINCON ON THE WEEKEND
"The team has shown a lot of resilience and toughness this week," said head coach Eduardo Rincon. "They are eager and ready to play. We have had a great week of practice and are ready for the challenge ahead."

THE OPPONENTS
- After an 0-2 start, Belmont has won four of its last five, including a 7-0 win over Big South Conference foe UNC Asheville last Saturday.
- The Bruins handed the Blue Hose a 6-1 defeat last season, the only prior meeting as DI opponents. Nicholas McKinney tallied the lone point for Presbyterian in the contest, winning at No. 3 singles.
- North Carolina A&T enters the weekend at 0-4, but is set to play Friday at Radford and Saturday at Davidson before coming to Clinton.
- Sunday is set to be the first meeting between the Blue Hose and Aggies, with N.C. A&T set to join the Big South for the 2021-22 academic year.
 
LAST TIME OUT
- The Blue Hose were edged 4-3 at Coastal Carolina last Sunday.
- Max Benson and Alberto Conde each won their singles matches for the third straight contest.
- Benson and McKinney clinched the doubles point for PC with a win at the No. 2 position, improving the duo's record to 5-0 in 2020.
