The Camels shot almost 70% in the second half and had an answer for several Blue Hose rallies as Campbell earned a 79-62 Big South win over the Presbyterian College men's basketball team Saturday afternoon in Buies Creek, N.C.
Cory Hightower led the Blue Hose with 19 points and eight rebounds.

Scoring the Game
A back and forth game early, the Blue Hose and Camels were tied 8-8 with 14:29 to go in the first. Campbell was the first to break away, using a 13-4 run over the next four minutes to open up a nine-point, 21-12 lead, 8:37 left. PC cut the margin to seven over the next couple of minutes, but another run by the Camels, this one, 8-2, to make it a 13-point game, 18-31, 3:31 on the clock. PC responded with six points, all free throws from
Cory Hightower, to cut it to seven, at 2:07. Cedric Henderson's three-pointer at 1:40 put the Camels ahead again by 10, 34-24. Hightower added a layup at 1:20 to make it an eight-point game again, but four straight free throws by Campbell over the next minute took the lead back to 12.Â
Zeb Graham gave PC some momentum at the end of the half with a dunk as time expired to send the Blue Hose into the locker room trailing by 10, 28-28.

Campbell came out on fire early in the second half, outscoring PC 12-4 in the first five minutes to take an 18-point, 48-32 lead, 15:03 remaining. Three points from
Michael Isler and three-pointers from
Owen McCormack and Hightower in a 9-5 run helped the Blue Hose cut the lead to 14, 41-55, 13:34 left. The Camel responded with an 8-2 spurt to take the lead to 20, 63-43, 10:10 remaining. A
JC Younger three-pointer, followed by a Graham jumper took the Camel lead down to just 13, 53-66, 5:56 to go. Henderson's layup at 3:14 took the lead back to 15 and ignited a 7-0 run to give the home team a 20-point lead, 75-55, 1:47 on the clock. The Camels took a 22-point lead with under a minute to go but Hightower closed out the game with a layup and three-pointer to end the game with the 17-point loss, 62-79.

Cory Hightower led the team in the first half in scoring with 10, and rebounds with five. Cedric Henderson was tops in the opening 20 minutes with 11 points and six rebounds. Hightower hit two three-pointers in the second half en route to a team-leading 19 points for the game. He also paced the team on the boards at the end with eight, as well as assists with six.. Henderson would go on to lead the Camels with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Shooting was close in the opening half, with PC shooting 38.1%, compared to 44.0% for the Camels. Campbell hit five three-pointers in the first half, compared to PC's one. For the game PC shot 45.7% after hitting 13-of-25 from the field in the second half (52.0%). Campbell shot 67.9% in the second half for 56.6% for the game. Rebounds were close with Campbell holding a 29-26 edge, with turnovers in favor of the Blue Hose 13-7. The Blue Hose hit 15 free throws and five three-pointers, while the Camels finished with 12 free throws and seven threes.
