PC Travels to Wilmington for UNCW Invitational

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College softball team heads back out on the road this weekend to take part in the UNCW Softball Invitational in Wilmington, N.C. The Blue Hose are set to play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday against UNCW, North Dakota and Georgetown.

Scotsman Invitational Recap...
Presbyterian went 4-1 at the Scotsman Invitational last weekend to improve to 7-2 at home. PC beat Wagner 6-0 on Friday, fueled by three home runs and a Jenna Greene three-hit shutout. Against Wright State, the Raiders rallied in the seventh inning to top the Blue Hose, 5-4. On Saturday, Presbyterian put together a late rally of its own, scoring a pair in the seventh to walk off with a 2-1 win over Cleveland State. Another pitchers' duel broke out between the Blue Hose and Vikings on Sunday, again with PC coming out on top, this time 1-0 behind a Haley Haselden shutout. In Sunday's finale, Presbyterian posted a season-high 11 runs on a season-high tying 13 hits to get revenge on WSU in an 11-5 victory.
 
The Opponents...
UNCW is off to a 4-14 start to the season, North Dakota is 6-13 and Georgetown sits at 5-13. The Blue Hose are 11-4 against UNCW in the DI era, having last played in 2016. PC beat Georgetown in 2013 in the only prior meeting, and has yet to face UND.

- PC hit five home runs at the Scotsman Invitational, bringing the team's season total to 14, one shy of last year's total of 15.
- On Sunday, Jenna Greene recorded her 100th strikeout of the season to become the eighth pitcher in the school's DI era to record a 100+ strikeout campaign.
- Greene's 101 strikeouts are 22 shy of tying the single-season DI era record of 123, which was set by Kensley Loudermelk in 2015.
- The freshman ended the weekend tied for the national lead with 11 wins, and inside the top-10 in shutouts (4, 3rd) and strikeouts (101, 6th), while also leading the Big South in innings pitched (81.0), complete games (11) and opponents' batting average (.152).
