Blue Hose Softball Adds Jones to Staff

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College and head softball coach David Williams announced the hiring of Kali Jones as the program's new assistant coach on Friday. Jones will primarily work with PC's outfielders and slap hitters, and will also assist in all other areas of the program, including travel and academics.

"We are excited to have Kali join our staff," said Williams. "I feel she will bring a lot of excitement and energy to our program. She has gained valuable experience in her time as a player at UNCW and in a graduate role at the University of South Carolina. I look forward to the contributions she will make to our program."

Jones joins the Blue Hose after spending one season with the South Carolina softball program as a graduate assistant. While at USC, she assisted with the hitters and the team's defense. The Gamecocks went 17-6 and were ranked as highly as 15th in the NFCA Coaches Poll before the season was halted due to COVID-19 concerns.

From 2016-19, Jones played in 196 games, starting 174, at UNCW. During her four-year career with the Seahawks, Jones owned a .259 batting average, and a .368 on-base percentage. She drew 79 walks, the second-most in program history, and her on-base percentage, 72 runs scored and 33 stolen bases all ranked inside the top-20 in Seahawk history. Jones was also a recipient of the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award on several occasions.

Jones graduated from UNCW in 2019 with bachelor's degrees in both Psychology and Exercise Science. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina.
