Coach Burgess' Thoughts
"We played with a lot of heart on the road tonight. We needed to be in-system a little bit more to terminate the ball and score. We had a couple of players come off the bench and contribute. It was a great battle for both teams and now we need to bounce back quickly against Gardner-Webb tomorrow."

Notables
- Cooke totaled her fourth triple-double of the season on Friday night which currently tied for the NCAA lead after Friday.
- Freshman Rylee Moorehead added 14 kills and 18 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
- Anna Hewitt totaled a career-high 28 digs in the contest. It's her sixth match of the season with 20+ digs.
- Sophomore Haley Grocholski totaled a career-high with eight blocks on Friday. She added five kills and a pair of digs as well.
- Sierra Jones led the team with 20 assists as she also chipped in with eight digs.
- As a team, PC totaled 12 blocks led by Grocholski's eight. The 12 blocks are one-off a season-high for the Blue Hose set against Coppin State earlier this season.

How it Happened
- Both Winthrop and PC went back-and-forth early on in the opening as there were eight ties leading to a slim 15-14 advantage for the Blue Hose at the media timeout. After the two teams continued to go back-and-forth to an 18-18 tie, PC used a strong offense to close the set on a 7-3 run to take the early 1-0 match lead on Winthrop.
- The hosts jumped out to an early 8-4 lead in set two forcing a Blue Hose timeout. Winthrop continued the offense in the set hitting .379 en route to a 25-12 set victory.
- Presbyterian raced out to an 8-0 start over the hosts in set number three before a mini-run from the Eagles cut it to 12-6 in the third set. The Eagles continued to put the pressure on PC with a burst to cut the Blue Hose lead to 17-15. The Blue Hose had a quick 6-2 run to get within two points of a set win before a 7-1 run from Winthrop tied it at 24-24. Both teams traded points before a kill from Moorehead followed by a block from Kasey Battle and Jordan McAda clinched set three by the count of 30-28.
- Much like the opening set, both teams battled back in forth with nine ties before Winthrop took a 15-12 lead to the media timeout. The hosts continued to put the pressure on PC in closing the set on a 10-4 run to force a fifth and deciding set.
- Winthrop raced out to a 7-1 lead in the fifth set. The Blue Hose cut the deficit to three, 10-7 before the Eagles closed on a 5-2 run for the win on Friday.

Up Next
- Presbyterian has a quick turnaround as the Blue Hose head to Boiling Springs, N.C. on Saturday for a 2 p.m. matchup with Gardner-Webb on ESPN+.
