CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team took home a 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-22) win in their penultimate home match on Friday evening against Gardner-Webb inside a joyful Templeton Center.

How it Happened
- Presbyterian had a strong start as they opened the match with a 10-4 lead. Gardner-Webb clawed their way back, but a 10-0 run by PC put them out to a 20-10 advantage. By that time, it was all but over in set one as the Blue Hose finished out the set and took it, 25-16.
- Gardner-Webb took the first two points in set two, but another rally by PC saw them go up 6-2 and force Gardner-Webb into a timeout. Presbyterian applied more pressure, but the Runnin' Bulldogs inched within two at 14-12. A 6-0 run by PC however saw them extend their edge, 21-13. The set was finished off emphatically with a block by
Erin Cooke and a kill by
Cydni Miller.
- The third set was much closer as the teams were tied at 2-2 and then 10-10 later in the set. A 5-0 run by the Blue Hose would run them up to a 16-12 lead which was large enough to hold Gardner-Webb for the rest of the set and match as PC won set three, 25-22, for a 3-0 win.
Coach Burgess' Thoughts:
- "Great start to senior weekend and a great team effort tonight. Paige executed well almost hitting .400 and all the outsides played well. The high energy we get in Templeton always gives us the motivation to win and we were able to do that tonight. I expect another tough, competitive match tomorrow."
