Blue Hose Defeated by College of Charleston

CLINTON, S.C. –  The Presbyterian College women's tennis team opened a five-match homestand on Sunday afternoon but came out on the wrong end of a 5-2 decision at the hands of College of Charleston at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

"It was a really hard fought match from our team this afternoon," said head coach Joel Roberts."We showed some toughness in some spots and definitely saw some things we need to work on. College of Charleston played very well and handled the pressure a little better than us in some big moments. I can't wait to get out there against Elon to keep working on the little things."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Presbyterian got off to a quick start taking the win at No. 2 doubles before the Cougars won at No. 1 doubles to set up the decisive point at No. 3 doubles.
- College of Charleston used a tiebreaker in the No. 3 doubles matchup to earn the first point of the match.
- The guests got out to a 2-0 lead with a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles and then pushed it to 3-0 with a straight-set win at No. 3 singles.
- Jessica Leeman got the Blue Hose on the board with a tough two-set victory that required tiebreakers in both sets to make it 3-1 College of Charleston.
- The Cougars used a second-set tiebreaker at the No. 6 singles to earn the match victory on Sunday.
- The guests grabbed a straight-set win at No. 5 singles before Zeba Jamal earned a three-set victory to give the match its final 5-2 margin.

- Leeman's singles win gives her a team-high three wins on the season.
