Blue Hose Return to Courts Thursday Afternoon

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team returns to the courts this week for a pair of home matches beginning on Thursday afternoon as they host Elon at 2 p.m.. The Blue Hose wrap up the week with a 1 p.m. matchup against UNF on Sunday afternoon.

COACH ROBERTS ON THE WEEKEND
"This week is a great test against two good opponents, said head coach Joel Roberts. "We are very glad to be at home so I know the team will be ready to go this week. We had some positives from our match with College of Charleston so I know the team is going to continue to build on that momentum we built."
 
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
- Elon comes into Thursday match with a 4-2 record following a 5-2 win against Big South foe Campbell last time out. The Phoenix have also notched a pair of wins against NC A&T and a tight victory over Gardner-Webb.
- Victoria Saldh and Lizette Reding both are 3-1 on the season in singles. Saldh along with Sofia Edo are 2-2 in doubles competition.
- The Phoenix are 3-0 all-time in the DI era against the Blue Hose with the most recent victory coming last January by the score of 4-0
 
SCOUTING THE OSPREYS
- North Florida enters the week with a 3-3 record as they are set to face USF on Wednesday and Wofford on Saturday before visiting Clinton for Sunday afternoon's match with PC.
- The Ospreys have noticed wins over Flagler, Georgia Southern and USF in the 2021 season thus far.
- Catherine Gulihur and Ana Paulal Melilo both enter the week with a 3-1 mark in singles action during the 2021 spring. Gulihur and Melilo are a perfect 4-0 in doubles competition so far.
- This matchup with UNF marks the first all-time meeting in the DI era that Presbyterian and North Florida have met.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Presbyterian College women's tennis team opened a five-match homestand on Sunday afternoon but came out on the wrong end of a 5-2 decision at the hands of College of Charleston at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

UP NEXT
- Following Sunday's match against UNF, the Blue Hose will continue their homestand against Coastal Carolina on Tuesday March 2 with first serve set for 1 pm.
