PC Endures Setback Against High Point

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team dropped the second match of its season-opening series against High Point 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-15) on Friday evening at the Templeton Center.

Notables
- Allie Wright posted a match-high five blocks, including a trio of solo blocks, to move past Andrea Barman (2010-13) into third place in PC's DI era for career blocks with 274.
- The Blue Hose edged the Panthers in blocks 6-5.
- Trinity Williams and Jordan McAda paced the PC attack with four kills apiece.
- Anna Hewitt tallied a career-high 11 digs and a career-best two service aces.
- Erin Cooke and Sierra Jones handed out eight assists apiece.
 
How it Happened
- Three of the first four points of the evening went to Presbyterian, but a 5-0 spurt from High Point put the visitors on top, 6-3. The Blue Hose drew within one at 7-6, but HPU ripped off four in a row to begin an extended 18-6 run to close out the set.
- Leading 8-6 in the second set, the Panthers tallied the next 13 straight on their way to claiming the second set.
- High Point opened the third set with an 8-3 edge, then used a 5-2 spurt to boost the margin to 13-6. Presbyterian notched the next three points to get within four at 13-9. A 10-2 HPU run built the advantage to 23-11. The Blue Hose fought off three match points before the Panthers sealed the set and the match.

Presbyterian hits the road for the first time this season next Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 13-14, for a pair of matches against Gardner-Webb.
