Blue Hose Close Out Homestand With Pair of Matches

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team wraps up a season-long five match homestand with a pair of matches this week beginning on Tuesday afternoon when PC welcomes Coastal Carolina in for a 1 p.m. serve. On Thursday, Presbyterian will welcome in Wofford for a 2 p.m. start at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

COACH ROBERTS ON THE WEEK AHEAD
"Looking forward to a big week ahead as we get set to open conference play at the end of the week, said head coach Joel Roberts. "I know the team will bounce back beginning tomorrow against Coastal and on Thursday against Wofford."
 
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
- Coastal Carolina comes in with a record of 3-2 following a 6-1 victory over College of Charleston in the Chanticleers last match.
- CCU also has wins over UNC Wilmington and Charleston Southern during the 2021 spring.
- The Chanticleers are led in singles by Somer Dalla-Bona who is 4-1 including a perfect 3-0 mark at the No. 1 singles position so far in the 2021 season.  Jesse Hollins checks in with a 3-2 singles mark.
- Coastal Carolina has won each of the nine all-time meetings over the Blue Hose during PC's DI era with the most recent victory coming in 2016 in Conway.
 
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
- Wofford will enter Thursday's match with a 5-3 mark after falling in its last match 7-0 against North Florida.
- The Terriers have tallied wins so far in 2021 against N.C. Central, Charleston Southern, Appalachian State, Gardner-Webb and North Greenville.
- Brittney Wilbur and Liz Massie both lead Wofford in singles action so far in 2021 as both have four victories. Lillie Steryous, playing primarily at No. 2 singles has three singles wins.
- Thursday's match is the 12th all-time meeting between Wofford and Presbyterian with the Terriers leading the series 9-2. Wofford defeated PC 7-0 last season.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Presbyterian College women's tennis team endured a 7-0 setback at the hands of North Florida on Sunday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

UP NEXT
- Following Thursday's match, the Blue Hose will hit the road to begin Big South play on Saturday morning with an 11 a.m. serve against Longwood.
