PC Falls to Campbell in Friday Matinee

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team lost the back end of its series against Campbell 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-18) in Big South Conference action on Friday afternoon.

Notables
- Senior middle blocker Allie Wright played in her 100th match as a Blue Hose on Friday.
- Erin Cooke tallied a team-high six kills on a team-best .353 hitting percentage.
- Anna Hewitt led the Blue Hose with 16 digs on the afternoon.
- Sierra Jones dished out a team-high nine assists in the contest.
- Jordan McAda notched four kills and recorded a team-best three blocks.
- The Blue Hose registered five total blocks while Campbell had two on the afternoon. PC has recorded more blocks than its opponent in eight of its 12 matches this season.
 
How it Happened
- Presbyterian got off to a 3-1 start in the first set, but Campbell scored the next eight points as part of a 10-1 run to jump ahead, 11-4. The Blue Hose drew back to within 12-7, but the Fighting Camels responded with six of the next seven to stretch the margin to 18-8, which essentially put the set beyond reach.
- The Blue Hose held a 4-2 edge early on in the second frame, but Campbell quickly answered, wrestling the advantage away from PC to go on top, 7-5. In front 10-9, CU used a 6-1 spurt to extend its lead to 16-10. PC got the deficit back to four, 16-12, but could not get any closer for the remainder of the frame.
- A 6-0 run helped the Camels race out to a 6-2 advantage in the third set, but Presbyterian answered right back to level the score at 6-6. Campbell tallied the next five points to regain an 11-6 lead. Trailing 19-14, the Blue Hose chipped away to cut the margin to three, 20-17. CU made one last run, taking five of the last six points of the afternoon to secure the victory.

The Blue Hose continue their road swing with a trip to Rock Hill next Thursday and Friday for a series against Winthrop.
