Men's Tennis Earns 5-2 Victory over Davidson

Clinton, S.C. – On a windy Saturday afternoon in Clinton, the Presbyterian College men's tennis team was able to earn a 5-2 victory over Davidson at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hose got out to a quick start on Saturday with a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles from Max Benson and Daniel Stenger. PC clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles by Teo Cariov and Alberto Conde.
- Davidson had a 5-3 lead at No. 3 doubles before the match was called since the Blue Hose had already locked up the doubles point.
- Benson continued his strong play with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles to give PC a 2-0 lead.
- Davidson got on the board with a tight two-set win at No. 6 singles to cut the lead to 2-1 for the Blue Hose.
- Conde got the Blue Hose a straight-set win to push the lead back to 3-1 PC. Cariov clinched the match for PC with a three set victory at No. 5 singles.
- Nicholas McKinney battled from a set down to earn a comeback win to give PC the 5-1 lead, while Davidson earned a win at No. 2 singles to give the match a 5-2 final score.
 
NOTABLES
- Benson has now won five consecutive singles matches and is 6-2 overall on the season playing from the No. 1 singles position for the Blue Hose.
- PC earned its first win over Davidson since February 2, 2019 on Saturday afternoon with the 5-2 victory.
- Saturday's match starts a busy stretch for the Blue Hose with this the first of six matches in the next week.
