Notes

Last Time Out...
Presbyterian snapped its losing skid with a 3-1 victory over South Carolina State in the opener of a twin bill on Thursday. Jenna Greene tossed the first no-hitter of her collegiate career and struck out 11, her third double-digit strikeout game of the season. At the dish, Rebecca Clark and Layna Johnson each had a pair of hits and accounted for all three Presbyterian runs. In the second game, PC had just taken a 2-1 edge in the bottom of the second inning when lightning halted the game. The contest was called a short while later when a tornado warning was issued on campus.

Greene's No-No...
Jenna Greene's no-hitter on Thursday against SCSU was the first of her collegiate career, and the second for Presbyterian in the program's DI era (since 2008). Prior to Thursday, the last no-hitter for the Blue Hose came on Feb. 26, 2011, when Brittany Howell (5.0 IP) and Maggie Gilliland (1.0 IP) combined to throw a perfect game at North Carolina A&T. Greene had been close to throwing a no-hitter on several occasions prior to Thursday, having tossed four one-hitters as a Blue Hose. Before Thursday, her closest call came on Feb. 21 at North Carolina A&T, when the sophomore did not allow a hit until two outs in the seventh inning.

Scouting the Bucs...
Charleston Southern arrives in Clinton after a split against Coastal Carolina in a midweek doubleheader. Like PC, CSU was swept by USC Upstate in its first Big South Conference series. Last weekend, the Bucs got their first league win of the year, taking one out of three against Radford. CSU is hitting .272 collectively, second in the Big South, led by Brooklyn Brewington's .432 average, which is also the second-highest in the conference.

Quick Hits...
- Rebecca Clark (.400) and Katelyn Petty (.364) rank fourth and sixth, respectively, in the Big South in batting average.
- As a team, PC boasts the top ERA in the league at 2.78.
- Individually, Jenna Greene has the best ERA in the conference at 2.33, while Haley Haselden ranks fifth at 2.67.
