Baseball Sweeps Charleston Southern

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Baseball team used strong pitching and timely hitting to finish off a three-game sweep of Charleston Southern by winning game one 3-0 and the series finale 3-1 at the PC Baseball Complex on Saturday. Chris Veach led the offense with four hits in the two games and Eric Miles along with Duncan Howard allowed zero earned runs in both starts on Saturday.

 NOTABLES
 - Chris Veach paced the Blue Hose at the place with four hits over the two games which included a double. Zacchaeus Rasberry, Sean Klein, Landon Shaw, and Eric Toth each had two hits in the doubleheader.
- Veach now has hits in all 12 games of his collegiate career. He tied Ryan Ouzts for the team lead now with six multi-hit games this season. 
- Eric Miles tossed seven scoreless innings in game one as he tallied seven strikeouts to lead the Blue Hose to the win. 
- Toth earned his first save of the season in game one as he got the final six outs with one strikeout to get the save. In game two, Toth connected on his second home run of the season.
- Duncan Howard lowered his ERA to 1.12 with his 5.0 innings of scoreless baseball in game two. 
- Veach picked up four strikeouts to record the save in game two.
- PC earned its first home sweep in a Big South series since April 5-7, 2019 when the Blue Hose swept UNC Asheville. 
- In the series, PC pitchers allowed two earned runs, while totaling 15 strikeouts en route to the sweep. 
 
 HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
 - PC got on the board in the first inning as a CSU error allowed a pair of runs to come around to score and give the Blue Hose the early 2-0 lead.
- Landon Shaw extended the lead in the third with a solo home run to give PC the 3-0 advantage. 
- Presbyterian used seven shutout innings from Eric Miles and a pair of innings from Eric Toth to finish the shutout. 
  
 HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
 - Toth got PC on the board early in the first inning with a two-run home run to take the early 2-0 lead. 
- PC extended the lead in the seventh with an RBI single from Jake Wyandt as Zacchaeus Rasberry scored on an error from CSU.
- Charleston Southern got on the board in the eighth with an RBI single but got no closer as Veach slammed the door on the three-game sweep for the Blue Hose.

 - The Blue Hose head back out on the road beginning on Thursday, April 1 to open a three-game series with UNC Asheville as first pitch is set for 5 p.m... PC and Asheville will play a Friday doubleheader to wrap up the series with first pitch for the twin bill set for 1 p.m...
