Strong Second Half Leads Blue Hose to 14-7 Win at Lee

Kelly Hyman was the leading scorer with five goals

Cleveland, TN – The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse outscored Lee 9-2 in the second half as the Blue Hose pulled away for a 14-7 road victory on Saturday afternoon. Kelly Hyman had a collegiate-best five goals before the game was cut short due to inclement weather.

Scoring The Game
Sarah Marshall scored on the first offensive push of the game and gave PC a 1-0 lead just fifty seconds into the match. Lee replied with quick goals from Shayna Ryan and Brittney White to give the Flames a 2-1 lead with 26:26 on the clock. The first half would go on to have five ties with neither team creating more than a one-goal lead. Ana Boothe, Hyman and Madison Foti each scored while Marshall tacked on a second and PC entered halftime tied 5-5.

Hyman scored her third of the game at 17:01 to cap a 4-0 run that saw PC jump out to a 9-6 lead. Abby Edmisten recorded two goals during the run that was halted by a 30-minute rain delay. After the unscheduled break, the Blue Hose continued to pull away as Hyman and Edmisten each added two more goals. Kara DiClemente recorded her 11th of the season as well as Presbyterian took a 14-7 lead. With 2:48 remaining in the game, the refs called the game due to inclement weather. 

By The Numbers
- Presbyterian led in shots, 18-15, and in shots on goal, 16-13.
- Lee held a slight advantage in draw controls, 12-11, while PC edged the Flames in ground balls, 13-12.
- The Blue Hose were 17-of-17 on their clears, while Lee was 15-of-17.
- Heidi Shafer made six saves and picked up her second win of the season.

Sarah Marshall (2g) extended her goal streak to 23 games and point streak to 28 games.
Sarah Marshall moved her career total to 105 points (78g, 27a) which has her just five points and two goals from ranking inside PC's top-5.
