How it Happened
- UNC Asheville tallied four of the first five points of the evening. Presbyterian countered with a 4-1 spurt of its own to draw back to within one at 9-8. Four straight from the Bulldogs stretched the margin out to five, 13-8. On top 14-10, Asheville ripped off the next six to go up 20-10, essentially putting the first set away.
- A 4-0 run early in the second set put the Blue Hose ahead 7-4. PC maintained the advantage until a 4-0 Bulldogs' surge levelled the score at 16-16. Presbyterian went ahead at 21-18, only to see Asheville answer and bring it back to even at 21-21. The Blue Hose again crept in front, 23-21, but the Bulldogs responded again, tallying the final four points to take a 2-0 edge into the break.
- The Blue Hose opened the third frame with a 6-3 start, and built the advantage as high as 13-8. A 10-3 stretch from UNC Asheville put the visitors on top, 18-16. Presbyterian tallied six of the next eight to climb back into the lead, 22-20. The Bulldogs got it back to even at 22-22, but a Cooke kill and back-to-back service aces by Allie Wright gave PC the set victory.
- Presbyterian got out to a 4-1 start in the fourth frame, but Asheville quickly drew level at 4-4. A pair of 5-0 runs helped the Bulldogs jump in front, 15-7. PC got back to within five at 16-11, but another four in a row from the visitors pushed the margin out to 20-11, and Asheville put the contest away from there.
