Blue Hose Return To The Pitch Saturday Night

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's soccer team returns to the pitch on Saturday night for a Big South matchup with Gardner-Webb with opening kick set for 7 p.m.. Saturday's game will be played at Green-Harbison Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday will be the 12th meeting between the Blue Hose and Runnin' Bulldogs in a series that dates back to 2008.
- Gardner-Webb holds the advantage in the all-time series with a record of 7-3-1 and has won the last three meetings between the teams. Presbyterian's most recent victory came in 2013 in Boiling Springs.
 
SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
- Gardner-Webb enters the match 1-2 overall and is 1-1 in league play after dropping a 3-0 decision to Longwood in its most recent match. Katelyn Kellogg finished with seven saves in the loss to the Lancers. 
- Jada Newton leads Gardner-Webb with a pair of goals and an assist thru the teams first three games. Maddie Turlington has a goal and two assists.
- Katelyn Kellogg leads the Runnin' Bulldogs in net with a win an 13 saves in her two games started.
- Mike Varga is in his seventh season at the helm of the Runnin' Bulldogs program.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Blue Hose opened the season 1-0 for the first time since 2017 after Kori Lawrence scored the game-winning goal in 83rd minute in Sunday's 1-0 win over Radford. PC earned their first victory over the Highlanders since 2017. PC's match with Winthrop slated for this past Sunday was postponed till March 18th in Clinton.
 
IN ELITE COMPANY
Head coach Brian Purcell is in his 32nd season at the helm of the PC women's soccer program. Only six other coaches in NCAA history have coached for 30+ years with the same school, and Purcell is one of only three coaches to still be the only coach in program history. North Carolina's Anson Dorrance has spent 44 seasons with the Tar Heels, and Jerry Smith has spent 36 seasons with Santa Clara.

- The Blue Hose are next in action on Thursday, March 11 at 7 pm when they travel to Spartanburg for a matchup with USC Upstate.
