Women's Tennis Opens League Slate at Longwood

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team begins its Big South portion of the schedule on Saturday with an 11 a.m. first serve against Longwood at Lancer Courts in Farmville. Saturday's match is the first of six Big South matches on the docket for the Blue Hose this spring.

COACH ROBERTS ON THE LEAGUE OPENER
"We are looking forward to opening conference play tomorrow against Longwood, commented head coach Joel Roberts. "The team has made great strides over the last few matches so we are looking forward to continuing that trend on Saturday."
 
SCOUTING THE LANCERS
- Longwood currently sits with a 1-2 record as it is slated to play N.C. Central on Friday afternoon before welcoming in Presbyterian on Saturday morning.
- The Lancers earned a 7-0 win over Southern Virginia for its lone win of the young season. Longwood also has a pair of matches on the docket so far this season against Liberty.
- PC holds a 5-3 advantage in the all-time DI series with Longwood as the Blue Hose have taken each of the last three meetings from the Lancers. In the last meeting during the 2019 spring season, the Blue Hose earned a tight 4-3 decision in Farmville.

LAST TIME OUT
- Junior Beth Lacey earned victories in both her singles and doubles matches on Thursday as the Presbyterian College women's tennis team was defeated by Wofford by the score of 5-2 at the Templeton Tennis Courts.  

UP NEXT
- Following Saturday's match in Farmville, the Blue Hose continue their road trip with a 2 p.m. match on Wednesday, March 10 at Gardner-Webb.
