PC Bounces Back With Dominant Win over The Citadel

Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team following a setback on Saturday earned a dominating 6-1 victory over The Citadel on Sunday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hose got out to a quick start with a 6-2 win at the No. 1 doubles position and were then able to clinch the doubles point with a dominant 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
- PC also earned a tight 7-5 decision in the No. 3 doubles position to earn the sweep on Sunday.
- Max Benson earned the Blue Hose the first point in singles with a straight-set win at No. 1 singles to push the lead out to 2-0.
- In No. 4 singles, Alberto Conde earned a pair of 6-3 results for a two-set victory and gave PC the 3-0 lead.
- Daniel Stenger was able to clinch the match for Presbyterian on Sunday with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles.
- Vance Mercer (No. 6 singles) and Teo Cariov (No. 3 singles) both earned wins in their singles matches as The Citadel earned the win at No. 5 singles to give the match its final 6-1 margin.
 
NOTABLES
- Stenger earned his third straight singles win with his straight-set victory on Sunday afternoon.
- As a team, PC improved to 8-3 overall in doubles matches including winning four of the last six doubles matches contested.
- The Blue Hose have now won six consecutive matches against The Citadel.
