Women's Tennis Heads To Boiling Springs For League Match

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team return to the court on Wednesday for a Big South matchup with Gardner-Webb beginning at 2 p.m. from the Webb Tennis Complex in Boiling Springs.

TIME: Wednesday, March 10, 2 pm

COACH ROBERTS ON WEDNESDAY'S MATCH
"We are looking forward to continuing conference play tomorrow afternoon at Gardner-Webb," commented head coach Joel Roberts. "The team is ready to go and know we are heading into a battle against Gardner-Webb."

SCHEDULE CHANGES
- Presbyterian's match against Georgia Southern originally scheduled for February 12th has been rescheduled for March 16th at 1 p.m. from the Templeton Tennis Courts.

SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
- Gardner-Webb comes into play with a 3-3 record following a 4-3 victory against College of Charleston on Sunday afternoon.
- The Runnin' Bulldogs have also earned victories against UNC Wilmington and UNC Asheville. GWU is 1-1 in league play.
- Gardner-Webb is led by Maria Jardim who is a perfect 5-0 to begin the 2021 spring with four of those wins coming at the No. 5 singles position.
- Manon Delsol, Daniela Naupari and Miljana Ristic each have three singles wins this season.
- Naupari and Ristic have paired up to go 4-2 in doubles play during the spring.
- The Blue Hose and Runnin' Bulldogs meet on Wednesday for the 14th time in PC's DI history with Gardner-Webb holding a 12-1 lead all-time.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Presbyterian College women's tennis team opened its Big South Conference schedule with a 7-0 blanking of Longwood on Saturday afternoon.
- Lacey, Piedra and Wilson each notched the first Big South singles wins of their careers.
- Jamal, Lacey and Piedra each collected their first Big South doubles wins of their careers.
- It was the first Big South Conference victory for PC head coach Joel Roberts.

UP NEXT
- Following Wednesday's match in Boiling Springs, the Blue Hose will hit the road for back-to-back matches beginning on Saturday with a trip to Western Carolina at 2 p.m.. Presbyterian will finish out the weekend with a neutral site match against Marshall being played on Charlotte's campus. The match with the Thundering Herd is set to begin at 1 p.m.
