Blue Hose Earn 3-1 Victory Over Spartans on Thursday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After being delayed a night due to weather, the Presbyterian College women's soccer team didn't let that stop their momentum from Sunday's overtime victory earning a 3-1 victory over USC Upstate on Thursday night at County University Soccer Stadium. Morgan Hutchison and Kori Lawrence both tallied goals along with the first collegiate goal for Payton Gulley.

How It Happened
- PC got on the board first in the 16th minute, as Emily LaBoon connected with Lawrence to give the Blue Hose the early 1-0 advantage.
- Gulley in the 35th minute scored her first collegiate goal to push the PC lead out to 2-0.
- Upstate got on the board late in the first half to give the match a 2-1 score at the intermission.
- Presbyterian added one more tally in the 71st minute as Kristen Bane connected with Hutchison and she gave the Blue Hose the 3-1 victory on Thursday night.

By the Numbers
- PC outshot Upstate 17-9 with a 7-6 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Blue Hose had a 7-1 lead in corner kicks.
- Amy Cloud, Hutchison and Lawrence each had a team-high three shots, while Gulley, Sydni Dachs and Caroline Dipzinski each tallied two shots.
- Lawrence and Gulley each had two shots on frame including each of their goals.
- Megan Serrano picked up three saves in the first half and Mackenzie Azuero had two saves in the second half.
 
Notables
- Lawrence with her first half goal moved into a four-way tie for fifth in the DI record book. She has totaled nine career goals in her Blue Hose career. It was also her team-high third goal of the spring. 
- Hutchison goal was her 40th career shot on goal moving her into a tie for fourth in the PC DI record book.
