FARMVILLE, Va. – The Presbyterian College baseball team opened Friday's doubleheader with a 7-6 victory over Longwood at Buddy Bolding Field behind three RBI's from Zacchaeus Rasberry. In game two, the Lancers bounced back with an 8-5 victory to earn a split of Friday's twin bill.

- Chris Veach paced the Blue Hose offense in the doubleheader with three hits including a pair of hits in the game one victory.
- Zacchaeus Rasberry, Sean Klein, Kyle Merkle, and Kyle Decker each added a pair of hits in game one as well. Rasberry, Klein, and Merkle each connected on doubles in the contest.
- Senior Jake Wyandt connected on his second home run of the year in the fourth inning to give PC the 3-1 lead at the time.
- Charlie McDaniel totaled a season-high four strikeouts in game one tossing 4.2 innings but didn't factor into the decision.
- Senior Brandon Williams tossed 2.1 innings in relief allowing one and striking out a season-high three to earn his first win of the season.
- Veach tossed the final two innings of game one facing the minimum to earn his third save of the year.
- Jeremiah Boyd had two hits in game two including his first double of the season to lead the offensive attack.
- In game two, Luke Matthews made his season debut on the mound tossing a scoreless fifth inning with a strikeout.
- Klein pushed his reached base streak to a season-high nine games in a row which leads the Blue Hose offense.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- PC got on the board in the third inning with back-to-back RBI singles from Rasberry and Veach to give the Blue Hose a 2-0 lead.
- Longwood got a run back in its half of the third inning to make it 2-1 Presbyterian.
- Wyandt extended the lead for the Blue Hose in the fourth with a solo home run to give PC a 3-1 advantage.
- Sean Klein pushed the lead to 4-1 in the fifth with an RBI single.
- The hosts responded with four runs in the home half of the fifth to take the first lead of the afternoon at 5-4 through five frames.
- Rasberry gave the Blue Hose the lead back with a two-run single in the sixth.
- Longwood evened the game at six as the hosts took advantage of a wild pitch to score a run.
- The Blue Hose regained the lead for good in the seventh with an RBI double from Kyle Merkle to give PC a 7-6 lead they wouldn't relinquish en route to the game one win.
- Veach shut the door for the Blue Hose with two shutout innings to earn his third save.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
- Longwood got on the board first in the second inning with a three-run inning to take a 3-0 lead.
- The Lancers added five runs in the third including a grand slam to push the lead out to 8-0 after three frames.
- PC got on the board with an RBI single from Andrew Livingston in the sixth which was followed up by Jeremiah Boyd's RBI single to make it 8-2 Longwood.
- The Blue Hose added a pair of runs on two Longwood wild pitches to cut the advantage to four, 8-4.
- Rasberry took advantage of a Lancer error to plate the fifth Blue Hose run in the inning and send it to the home half of the sixth at 8-5.
- Longwood hung on at the end after PC's five-run frame to earn a split on Friday.
