ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team was unable to overcome a three-run home run in game one against UNC Asheville falling 8-5. The Bulldogs used a three-run seventh, in game two, to pick up the series victory, 7-6 on Saturday at Greenwood Baseball Field. Brody Fahr led the offense on Saturday with a 4-for-7 day at the plate.Â

- In game one, Fahr, Ryan Ouzts, and Kyle Merkle paced the offense with two hits apiece.Â
- Andrew Livingston connected on his first home run of the season in game one as well that helped cap a three-run frame for the Blue Hose.Â
- With his five strikeouts in game one, Eric Miles passed Beau Dees for third in the Blue Hose DI record book in strikeouts. Miles currently sits with 212 strikeouts in his Presbyterian career.Â
- In the series finale, Eric Toth, Zacchaeus Rasberry, and Fahr each tallied two hits. Rasberry and Toth both connected on home runs in the game. Toth leads the team with four home runs this spring.
- Duncan Howard matched his career-high in just his fourth collegiate start going 6.0 innings and picking up five strikeouts. He hit both of those benchmarks in the final game of the series against Eastern Kentucky on February 27.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- Livingston got the Blue Hose on the board first with a two-run home run in the second to get the early 2-0 lead.
- The hosts responded in their half of the second with a three-run frame highlighted by a two-run home run of their own to take a 3-2 lead to the third inning.
- PC regained the lead in the third with back-to-back RBI singles from Ryan Ouzts and Kyle Merkle to take a 4-3 advantage.Â
- The Bulldogs got the lead back in the fifth with a two-run home run to take a 5-4 lead.Â
- In the eighth, Decker knotted it back up at five with an RBI double.
- Asheville pushed ahead for good in the home half of the eighth with a three-run homer to even the series at a game apiece.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
- Asheville got on the board first in the second with a pair of runs to take the early 2-0 lead.
- The hosts added a run in the fourth and one in the fifth to push the lead out to 4-0.
- In the sixth, PC answered with a two-run home run from Toth to cut the Blue Hose deficit in half, 4-2.
- PC evened the game at four with an RBI triple from Rasberry and an RBI single from Fahr.
- The Blue Hose pushed out in front with an RBI single off the bat of Kyle Decker to make it 5-4 thru 5.5 innings.
- Asheville pushed back in front with a three-run seventh inning to take a 7-5 lead.
- The Blue Hose added a solo home run off the bat of Rasberry to make it 7-6 but wouldn't get any closer as the Bulldogs clinched the series.Â
