Women's Tennis Drops Season Finale to Campbell

CLINTON, S.C. –  The Presbyterian College women's tennis team wrapped up the 2021 regular season slate on Thursday with a 4-3 defeat in Big South Conference action against Campbell on Thursday at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

 "Tough one today," commented head coach Joel Roberts. " Campbell is a very solid team and they played well this afternoon. We will hit the reset button and have a great week of training leading up to the conference tournament."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- PC opened the scoring with a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles by Alexa Wilson and Samantha Calais. The Camels evened the doubles matches at one apiece with a win at No. 1 doubles.
- Jessica Leeman and Lucianna Piedra clinched the doubles point for the Blue Hose with a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
- Campbell evened the match at one apiece with a straight-set win at No. 2 singles before a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles gave the guests a 2-1 advantage.
- The Camels extended their lead to 3-1 with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles and went on to clinch the match with a win at No. 4 singles in a three-set match.
- Leeman and Beth Lacey earned three-set wins in the No. 3 and 6 singles matches ,respectively, to make it a 4-3 final score for Campbell in Thursday's regular season finale.
