Notes

Last Time Out...
Presbyterian is coming off of a series at Gardner-Webb which saw the Blue Hose take one out of three up in Boiling Springs, N.C. A three-run second inning was all GWU needed to take Friday's series opener, but the Blue Hose responded with a 9-1 win in the second game, scoring eight runs over the final two innings to break a 1-1 tie. In Saturday's series finale, a solo home run proved to be the lone run of the afternoon as the Runnin' Bulldogs won 1-0 to claim the series victory.

Haselden Hurling Gems...
Lefty Haley Haselden continued her strong senior campaign with two more gems last weekend at Gardner-Webb. In her two starts against the Runnin' Bulldogs, the southpaw yielded just three hits and two runs while striking out 14 in 13.0 innings of work. Haselden one-hit GWU on Saturday in PC's 9-1 win, then retired the first 13 hitters she faced in Sunday's series finale before ending up on the wrong side of a 1-0 decision. For the season, the Hemingway, S.C., native ranks second in the Big South in both ERA (2.23) and opponents' batting average (.199). As a team, PC owns the best ERA in the conference (2.65), the lowest opponents' batting average (.214) and the highest strikeout rate (7.06/7).

Scouting the Eagles...
Winthrop took two out of three from Charleston Southern last weekend to pick up its first Big South Conference series victory of the season. In their most recent action, the Eagles split a twin bill against NC Central on Thursday. Winthrop is hitting .253 as a team, led by Ansley Gilreath (.380) and Macy McCall (.371), who rank second and fourth, respectively, in the Big South in average. Gilreath leads the conference in hits (41), home runs (12), RBIs (36) and total bases (82), while McCall tops the league in runs (33), steals (30), walks (27) and on-base percentage (.507).

Quick Hits...
- After going 5-for-10 last weekend at Gardner-Webb, Rebecca Clark now leads the conference with a .417 batting average.
- This weekend's series continues PC's six-game road trip to begin the month of April. The Blue Hose are scheduled to play 13 of their 20 games this month away from home.
