CLINTON, S.C. -- Junior Sean Klein connected on a pair of home runs in game two on Saturday as the Blue Hose picked up a 9-3 victory in their home regular-season finale at the PC Baseball Complex. Gardner-Webb took the opener on Saturday by the score of 10-6.

- Zacchaeus Rasberry paced the Blue Hose offense on Saturday with four hits in the doubleheader as he had two in both contests.
- Rasberry added two stolen bases with his first one helping him break the school's DI career record for stolen bases with his now 37 career steals.
- Brody Fahr and Kyle Decker each had three hits in the twin bill with Fahr totaling four RBI's.
- Klein became the first Blue Hose to hit two home runs in a game since Tannor Byrd hit two during a March 4, 2020 game against Wofford.
- In game one, Charlie McDaniel set a new career-high for strikeouts with the freshman totaling seven over 6.1 innings.
- Duncan Howard matched a career-high in game two with his third game this season totaling five punchouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME ONE
- Presbyterian got out to a quick start with an RBI single from Fahr before a sacrifice fly from Klein to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Blue Hose extended the advantage in the fifth with three runs capped off by an RBI double from Boyd to give PC a 5-0 lead.
- Gardner-Webb plated five runs in the sixth, one in the seventh, and four in the eighth to jump out to a 10-5 lead.
- PC picked up a run in the ninth but couldn't get any closer as the Blue Hose dropped the opener by the count of 10-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME TWO
- Klein got the Blue Hose on the board in the second with a solo home run to jump out to a 1-0 lead.
- The guests responded with two runs in the third to get back out in front at 2-1.
- Klein connected on his second home run in the fourth as this one was a two-run shot to push PC back out in front at 3-2.
- Fahr added a two-run single in the fourth to extend it to 5-2.
- In the seventh, Eric Toth connected on an RBI double before a fielding error helped extend the lead to 7-2.
- Kyle Merkle connected on an RBI triple before Kyle Decker added an RBI single in the frame to give PC the 9-2 edge after seven.
- GWU added a solo home run in the ninth but Toth shut the door to record his fifth save of the season.
UP NEXT
- The Blue Hose will head to Charleston for a Tuesday night matchup with the Bucs set for 5 p.m. from Charleston Southern. It starts a seven-game road stretch the Blue Hose have to close out the 2021 regular season with road trips to High Point (May 14-15) and Winthrop (May 20-21) on tap.
