Notables
- Erin Cooke led the Blue Hose in match one against Stetson with 16 kills, 21 assists, and 21 digs for her ninth career triple-double and third of the 2021 season.
- In the loss, freshman Rylee Moorhead added 16 kills and 11 digs for her second career double-double. Sophomore Kinsey Bailey added her first double-double of the season with 28 assists and 15 digs.
- Cydni Miller added a career-high 17 kills in the contest with Stetson.
- As a team, PC recorded 14 service access against the Hatters led by Cooke's four.
- Cooke paced the Blue Hose in the win over Alcorn State with seven kills, eight assists, and four blocks.
- Allie Wright totaled a team-high four aces and eight blocks as PC racked up 12 total blocks against the Braves.
How it Happened – Match One
- Stetson got out to a quick start, opening up a 7-2 advantage in the opening set. After the two teams traded points and PC cut it to 12-8, the Hatters rattled off five consecutive points to push their lead out to 17-8. Presbyterian fought back with a 14-3 run that saw them take a 22-20 lead before five straight Stetson points gave the Hatters a 25-22 opening set victory.
- After Stetson jumped out to the early 5-1 edge in set two, Presbyterian battled back with a 10-2 run to take an 11-7 lead on the Hatters. Stetson rallied back once again with a quick burst before PC pushed back out on a run to take an 18-15 lead. The two teams tied three times down the stretch with the Hatters pulling away late for the 25-23 victory to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
- PC got out to an 8-3 start in the third set which included a 4-0 spurt to take the early lead. After the Hatters rallied with a 7-2 run, Presbyterian kept pushing to take an 18-14 lead forcing a Hatter timeout. Stetson cut the lead down to one, 19-18 but they would get no closer as a 6-2 Blue Hose finish gave PC the 25-20 set three victory.
- PC jumped out quickly to a 12-3 advantage over the Hatters as they would chip away at the deficit but were unable to get it tighter than seven as Presbyterian was able to force the fifth and deciding set on Friday afternoon.
- In the fifth set, both teams traded points early with a 5-5 match on the docket before PC rattled off a quick 3-0 burst to take an 8-5 lead. Stetson however closed quickly with a 10-3 run to win the match 3-2 on Friday over PC.
How it Happened – Match Two
- After an early 3-2 lead from Alcorn State, the Blue Hose rattled off an 8-3 run to take a 10-6 advantage on the Braves. The Braves rattled off five straight points to regain the slim lead before a 10-1 Blue Hose spurt gave PC a 20-12 lead. The two teams traded runs down the stretch before PC earned the 25-17 victory.
- Similar to set one, PC and Alcorn started even with Presbyterian evening it up at five in the second set before a 6-1 run gave PC a lead they wouldn't relinquish. The Blue Hose finished the second set on a 14-4 run to push the advantage to 2-0 in the match.
- The Braves got out to an early 5-1 lead before PC battled back with an 8-1 run to take a 9-6 lead. Alcorn State went on a 6-2 burst to regain a slim 12-11 advantage. The two teams traded points over the next several until the Blue Hose gained a lead at 19-18 and following a quick two points from Alcorn, PC closed on a 6-2 run to win the match.
