How it Happened
- Presbyterian jumped out to an early 7-2 lead in the opening set. After a run by Georgia State, PC stretched their lead to 14-8. The teams traded points as the Blue Hose went up 19-15. PC went on a 4-0 run to win the set, 25-19.
- PC began set 2 on a good note going up 4-1. The Panthers, however, would tie the set twice and eventually take the lead, 11-10. The Blue Hose worked hard to get themselves back into the set, getting deadlocked at 20-20. Presbyterian were unfortunate as they dropped set two, 25-23.
- The Blue Hose once again took an early lead to begin set three, going up 7-4. PC found a hot streak as they extended the lead to 14-8. They would go on an 8-0 run to end the set, handling the Panthers easily, 25-13.
- The fourth set began with both teams going back and forth, but PC finally took the lead, 10-8. A 5-0 run from Presbyterian would have them go up 19-13. The Panthers would climb back as they went on to win set four, 25-22.
- The fifth and deciding set was tough as it was neck-and-neck, tied at 9-9. PC would go down, but work well to fight back and tie the set, 12-12. Unfortunately, the Blue Hose couldn't finish the set as they fell, 15-12.
