SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Presbyterian College cross country teams began the 2021 season on Friday night with a pair of eighth-place finishes in the Eye Opener at Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg. Junior Lili Jaraczewski led the women's side with a 20th place finish at 20:01.6, while sophomore William Johnson posted a 28:15.2 to led the men's team on Friday.

Notables
· Lili Jaraczewski posted a team-best 20:01.6 for 20th place on Friday to pace the Blue Hose in the women's 5k.
· Sophomore Keyli Gomez was second for PC at 21:23.7. In her collegiate debut, Caroline Rairigh finished with a 21:45.1.
· Megan Flynn finished for Presbyterian with a 22:49.2, while Julie Covil posted a personal record of 23:38.4 in just her second career cross-country event of her PC career.
· Julia Keen posted a 26:39.1 in her season debut on Friday night.
· South Carolina won the team event on Friday, while Mackenzie Taylor of Augusta won the individual title with a time of 18:19.8.
· On the men's side, PC was led by William Johnson who posted a 28:15.2 to finish 28th overall in the event.
· Zack Kochert finished second amongst the Blue Hose with a 28:44.7 to finish 35th.
· Kieran Schuetterle posted a 30:43.2 on Friday night. Justin Nobles finished with a 31:38.6 to post a personal best.
· Neel Taber led a group of Blue Hose with a 33:09, while Ralph Guerra in his first cross country race of his collegiate career finished at 33:21.8 and freshman James Marler made his debut on Friday at 33:33.5.
· Augusta won the team event, while Kai Brickey of Augusta took the individual title with a 25:27.3. Augusta finished with seven of the top nine racers overall in Friday's 8k in Spartanburg.
