CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's soccer team had a tough time against their third Southern Conference opponent of the season, falling to The Citadel 9-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Citadel controlled possession after the opening kick and had a chance from a corner, but
Megan Serrano made the save. Serrano came up big moments later as she made a diving save preventing the Bulldogs from taking the early lead. The Citadel was able to take the lead in the 12
th minute however on a goal from Suzuka Yosue. The Bulldogs quickly made it 2-0 as the ball came in from the wing and Serrano was unable to make the save diving to her left. The Citadel tacked on two more as they led 4-0 at halftime.
As the second half started, plenty on freshmen were on the pitch for the Blue Hose and second-year goalkeeper
Mackenzie Azuero came in to replace Serrano for her first action of the year.
Sarah Dieffenderfer tried to link up with
Sophia Thomson, but the through ball was intercepted before the Blue hose could create an opportunity. The Citadel made it 5-0 off the foot of Maria Contreras as she scored from the top of the box. The Bulldogs put another by Azuero as the game was now out of hand for Presbyterian. The Blue Hose showed passion and effort for the remainder of the game as they fell 9-0.
