Kennesaw State Spoils Women's Tennis Home Opener

Clinton, S.C.. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped its season-opening match on Saturday morning as the visiting Kennesaw State earned a 7-0 victory at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

"It was a tough one opener against Kennesaw State, I thought the team battled hard but KSU was tough. I am looking forward to training hard Monday and Tuesday and getting ready for Wednesday's match at Clemson." commented head coach Joel Roberts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kennesaw State got out to an early advantage with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles before taking a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles to secure the team doubles points. The Owls led 5-4 in the No. 2 doubles match before it was called.
- KSU pushed the lead out to 2-0 with a straight-set victory at No. 6 singles before the 3-0 lead was gained by the guests with a straight-set win at No. 1 singles.
- The Owls secured the match at No. 4 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
- Kennesaw State earned a straight-set win at No. 2 and 5 before a three-setter at the No. 3 singles position.
 
NOTABLES
-  Freshman Claudia Sanchez made her collegiate debut on Saturday playing at No. 2 doubles and No.3 singles.

UP NEXT
- The Blue Hose matchup with Clemson scheduled for Sunday afternoon has been postponed to Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. from Clemson.
