Clinton, S.C.. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team recorded their second straight shutout on Saturday as the Blue Hose downed Belmont Abbey 7-0 at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hose got out to a fast start with a victory at No. 2 and 3 doubles to capture the doubles point over Belmont Abbey on Saturday. Claudia Sanchez & Lucianna Piedra claimed a 6-1 victory before Beth Lacey and Jessica Leeman clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at the No. 3 spot.
- Belmont Abbey took the tiebreak win at No. 1 doubles after the Blue Hose had already clinched the doubles point.
- Presbyterian was able to sweep the six singles matches to claim the overall win on Saturday as the Blue Hose did it in straight sets across the board.
- Lacey dominated with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 6 spot for the 2-0 lead before Leeman won 6-3, 6-0 to push the Blue Hose advantage to 3-0.
- Similar to Lacey, Zeba Jamal won her singles match 6-0, 6-1 to clinch the match for Presbyterian.
- Sanchez, Piedra, and Alexa Wilson each grabbed victories in singles play to propel the Blue Hose to their second 7-0 win of the week.
NOTES
- The doubles pairs of Leeman/Lacey and Piedra/Sanchez each grabbed their second victories of the season which both are team-highs on the young season.
- All six singles players for PC on Saturday earned their second win in singles play of the 2022 season.
