Hampton, Va. – Hampton jumped out to an early 18-point lead that propelled the host Pirates to a 66-43 victory on Tuesday night at the Convocation Center. Jade Compton pulled down 12 rebounds in the contest to lead the Blue Hose.

"It was a tough night for us offensively. We had a hard time getting into a rhythm. Hampton did a good job of pressuring us and making it hard for us to move the ball and get into the paint. It's important for us to regroup and learn what we can from tonight."
Scoring the Game
- Hampton used an 18-0 run over the first eight minutes to take a commanding lead over the Blue Hose. Presbyterian got back-to-back buckets in the final minutes of the opening stanza from Nyah Willis and Paige Kindseth along with a free-throw from Kindseth pushed it to 18-5 after one quarter.
- The Pirates continued to put the pressure on the Blue Hose with a 12-0 run over the first four minutes to take a 30-5 lead. Presbyterian chipped away at the Hampton lead with a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to 19, 30-11. The hosts closed the final four minutes on an 8-3 run to take a 38-14 lead to the break on Tuesday night.
- Hampton opened the second half on an 8-2 run to push the lead out to 46-16 with 7:31 to play in the quarter. Back-to-back layups from Compton and Carter were answered with a 7-3 burst from the Pirates to make it 53-23 heading to the fourth.
- Both teams traded five-point bursts in the opening two minutes before back-to-back layups from Georgia Stockton and Tionna Carter cut it to 58-32 with 6:57 to play in the fourth. The Pirates and Blue Hose went back and forth over the final six minutes with two late threes from Stockton pushing it to a 66-43 final.

- Jade Compton, Nyah Willis and Georgia Stockton each posted a team-high eight points in Tuesday night's contest. Compton pulled down 12 rebounds to lead Presbyterian. Willis had five assists to pace Presbyterian on the offensive end. Hampton was led offensively by Victoria Mason who totaled 22 points, while Nylah Young added 21 points as Young totaled a team-high 11 rebounds. Tia Montagne added 15 points and nine rebounds. The Pirates had a pair of players with five helpers to lead the attack.

- With her 12 rebounds, Compton moves into a tie for eighth in the Blue Hose DI record book with 423 career rebounds. She tied Rebecca Walker in the matchup on Tuesday night.
