POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – For the third time in the last four weeks, the Presbyterian College football team gears up for an opponent they have only met one time in the school's history, enacting on a host of fresh matchups since joining the Pioneer Football League. This time, the Blue Hose will visit the Marist Red Foxes in the Empire State, taking on another league for just the second time this Saturday. Kickoff at Tenney Stadium is scheduled for 12:00 noon on ESPN3.
Located roughly 90 minutes from the Big Apple, Presbyterian will make their first ever trip to Marist after hosting the Red Foxes one season back. That 2021 duel in Clinton saw 89 combined points in a game of offensive one-upmanship, where the visitors came away with a 57-32 decision once the dust settled. Aiming for their first win over a fellow PFL representative, PC and first-year leader
Steve Englehart will look to even the infant series with the Red Foxes and pick up their first road W of the fall.

Opponent Profile
• Lining up a 2-5 overall record, with both of those victories occurring over league competition, Marist has yet to reach a W in Poughkeepsie this fall in four attempts, downing both Drake and Stetson as the designated road team only two weeks apart.
• Taking the losing end of their last two contests at the hands of Dayton and Butler, the latter by a 31-10 deficit in Indianapolis, the Red Foxes have battled inconsistency in 2022, scoring 24 points or greater in three outings while also being held under 20 points on four separate occasions.
• Both the Blue Hose and their northern foe have an unwanted similarity across their previous matchup, in that they were held to zero on the scoreboard over the second half last Saturday. Tied at 10 with the Bulldogs at the halftime break, Marist was outscored 21-0 over the final 30 minutes in the loss to Butler.
• Underneath longtime head coach Jim Parady, the Red Foxes have seen an average of 218 passing yards per contest with starting QB Brock Bagozzi, scoring nearly 60% of their 2022 points over the second half. However, since pouring in a season-high 45 points in a double-digit win over Stetson in the Sunshine State, Marist has been held to 17 points combined in the consecutive L's to Dayton and Butler.
PC Trending Up in PFL Ranks
• With the 2022 campaign now nearing 75% completion, the Blue Hose find themselves ranked 4th in the Pioneer Football League in yards per completion (12.6), while gathering a total of 19 sacks for another 4th-place league slot.
• Penalized less than five times per outing, coach Englehart's club sits in 5th place in the conference with 123 first downs as
Nate Hayden,
Tyler Wesley, and
Ty Englehart have all seen time at the quarterback position.
• Ramping up their special teams production beside nearly eight punt return yards per attempt, the Blue Hose and first-year specialist
Shawn Lodge rank 5th in the PFL across that category. The true freshman's 365 combined kick return yards rank as the 4th most in the league after busting out a season-long 31-yarder last Saturday vs. St. Thomas.
• Possessing a passer efficieny rating of 120.5, Hayden's favorite target in '22 has been rookie
Dominic Kibby, a first-year wideout who put together his second 100-yard receiving performance last weekend (while helping return kicks for the first time), ranking 3rd in the PFL with 17 yards per catch through eight games.
Herriott & Halloran 1-2 Punch
• The defensive leaders of a PC team that has amassed 43 tackles for a loss,
Keegan Halloran and
Alex Herriott have added up for 125 stops this fall. The best and second-best defenders in the PFL in terms of solo tackles per game, the linebacker/safety tandem both rank inside the FCS top 10 in that category.
• Herriott's 74 unassisted tackles are the most among active conference players, ranking 10th at the FCS level for good measure.
Last Time Out
• Unfortunately mirroring the team's last home appearance two weeks earlier, Presbyterian's date with a red-hot St. Thomas squad ended in a 46-17 decision that swayed in the visitors' favor, defiantly turning a three-point game at the break into a one-sided result.
• Putting points on the board in three of their first four series and finding a 200- yard all-purpose outing from freshman WR
Dominic Kibby, the Blue Hose ran out of gas over the last two periods on Saturday in another spirited effort, only outgained by 67 yards against a PFL team who ended up recording their sixth consecutive victory.
Around the PFL
• Four weeks remain in the 2022 season and the PFL race still has six teams in contention for the league title and five in the hunt for the league's automatic bid to the 2022 FCS Playoffs. There will be plenty of action between the league's leaders in the closing weeks, with two marquee matchups in Week 9 featuring St. Thomas vs. San Diego and Valparaiso traveling to Dayton.
• As the 2022 season comes to a close three PFL members near significant program victory milestones. Dayton enters the week two wins away from recording its 700th all-time victory. Butler, which has won three-straight games for the first time since 2017, is one win away from its 600th all-time win. Stetson also needs three wins to reach the 200-win mark in program history.
