Blue Hose Drop Saturday Match to Campbell

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team fell on Saturday afternoon to visiting Campbell 3-0 (23-25, 19-25, 22-25) at the Templeton Center. Sophomore Rylee Moorhead led the Blue Hose offense with 10 kills, while freshman setter Anna Baranski had 26 assists in the contest.

How it Happened
- Campbell got out to a fast start on Saturday with the matches first four points to gain the early advantage. The Blue Hose were able to cut the deficit to three, 8-5 before five unanswered from the guests pushed them to a 13-5 lead. The two teams were able to trade points before back-to-back points from PC got it to an 18-13 set score. PC continued to battle after the guests pushed it to 20-14, the Blue Hose scored five of the next seven to make it 22-19 late in set one. The Blue Hose tied it at 23 before back-to-back points made it 25-23 and gave Campbell set one.
- The guests jumped out to the early 5-2 lead in the second set before PC responded with a 5-3 run to cut the deficit to one, 8-7. Campbell quickly extended its lead to four with three straight points to get the 11-7 lead and force PC to call timeout. The two teams traded bursts before the Fighting Camels pushed it to a 17-12 lead forcing a Blue Hose timeout. Campbell took a 20-14 lead before PC rattled off five of the next seven points to take cut the deficit to 22-19. Campbell closed with three straight points to take set two 25-19.
- After three ties in the early going, Campbell rattled off five straight points to take an 8-3 lead in the third set. The Blue Hose went on a 7-3 run to cut the deficit to a single point in the set. The guests pushed across four unanswered points before a 6-1 run allowed set three to even up at 16 and force a Campbell timeout. Campbell went on a 5-1 burst out of the timeout to take a 21-17 lead late in set three. The Blue Hose continued to fight with four of the next six points to make it 23-21 Campbell before the guests closed it out 25-22 to take the match in straight sets.

Notables
- Moorhead led the Blue Hose offense with 10 kills as she also added a pair of assists and a pair of digs.
- Paige Cairns tallied eight kills with a .353 hitting percentage for the PC offense.
- Freshman Anna Baranski led the Blue Hose with 26 assists while also tallying seven digs and a pair of aces.
- Junior Jordan McAda had a team-high four blocks with three kills on the offensive end.

- The Blue Hose hit the road for the first of three straight on the road beginning on Friday night in Boiling Springs with a 6 p.m. start against Gardner-Webb.
