BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team led by sophomore Rylee Moorhead's fifth double-double of the season suffered a 3-1 (15-25, 25-21, 16-25, 18-25) setback on Friday night at Gardner-Webb inside Paul Porter Arena. Moorhead totaled 10 kills and 15 digs in the defeat.

How it Happened
- Gardner-Webb jumped out to the early 8-2 advantage in the opening set on Friday before the Blue Hose battled back with a 4-1 burst of their own. The hosts responded with a 5-1 run to take a 14-7 lead and force PC to use a timeout. GWU continued to keep the pressure with four of the next six points to take an 18-9 lead in the opening set forcing PC to use its second timeout. The Blue Hose battled back with three of the next five points before the hosts took the set 25-15.
- The Blue Hose opened the second set quickly with a 6-2 burst to get the early advantage and force Gardner-Webb to call the early timeout. GWU cut the margin to three, 8-5 before a quick three points from the Blue Hose extended it to an 11-5 set. The Runnin' Bulldogs went on an 11-5 run to even the set at 16 and force PC to call its first timeout of the second set. A quick 4-0 burst from the Blue Hose led to 20-16 lead and forced Gardner-Webb timeout. The hosts cut it to 22-20 before PC closed on a 3-1 burst to take set two 25-21.
- The two teams battled to a 3-3 tie in the early going before six unanswered from the Runnin' Bulldogs gave the hosts a 9-3 lead. The two teams went back and forth before the hosts scored three of the next four points to make it 15-7 and lead to a media timeout. PC scored four of the next seven points to cut it to 18-11 before a 5-0 burst from the hosts made it 23-11 en route to a 25-16 set three victory.
- Gardner-Webb opened set four on a 7-3 surge that saw PC quickly respond cutting it to 9-6. The hosts answered with three of the next four points to take a 12-7 lead and force a Blue Hose timeout. The Runnin' Bulldogs tallied four of the next six point to push it to a seven-point lead, 16-9 before the Blue Hose battled back with a 5-2 run to make it 18-14 and force GWU to call timeout. Gardner-Webb kept the margin down the stretch with a 7-4 run that gave the hosts a four-set win on Friday.

- Moorhead recorded her fifth double-double of the season as she totaled 10 kills and 15 digs along with a pair of aces on Friday.
- She's now had 10+ kills in 10 league matches including each of the last six to pace the Blue Hose offensive attack. Moorhead has tallied a team-high 147 kills (3.0/set) in Big South action.
- Junior Hailey Grocholski tallied nine kills on 21 swings without an error for PC. She added three digs and two blocks in the contest.
- Paige Cairns totaled eight kills and three digs in the match.
- Senior Cydni Miller added four kills on seven swings in her action for the Blue Hose.
- Freshman Anna Baranski led the Blue Hose with 35 assists and also added six digs to her stat line.
- Junior libero Anna Hewitt led the way defensively with 19 digs.
