Matchup Between Presbyterian and High Point Finishes in a Scoreless Tie

CLINTON, S.C. – In a tightly contested Big South Conference game between two evenly matched teams, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (7-1-2, Big South: 1-0-2) tied the High Point Panthers (4-3-4, Big South: 2-0-2), 0-0, at Martin Stadium on Saturday night.

"I was proud of our team," Presbyterian coach Jonathan Potter said. "I thought we showed a great response from Wednesday's game in terms of our overall intensity. High Point is a good team. We will take the positives from the game and prepare for our next match."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the 17th minute, Presbyterian had a scoring chance when Iragi Kalala blasted a shot toward the right corner of the goal from 20 yards out that was stopped by High Point's goalkeeper Holden Trent.
  • In the 48th minute, High Point's Sebastian Chalbaud's shot from 15  yards out was stopped by Presbyterian's goalkeeper Leo Stritter.
  • In the 61st minute, High Point's Brendan Krueger sent a shot from just inside the top of the box toward the right post but Presbyterian's Stritter made a great diving save to keep the Panthers off the board.
 
NOTABLES
  • Stritter recorded two saves while collecting his sixth shutout of the season.
  • Presbyterian finished the game with eight shots. Kalala and Gerard Lopez led the Blue Hose with two shots apiece. Uriel Ferguson, Carson Griffith, David Citron, and Ndrin Maloku rounded out the Blue Hose offensive attack with one shot apiece.  
  • The Blue Hose finished the game with seven corner kicks.
