CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team was unable to thwart an 18-3 run by Furman over the final 6:30 on Friday night as the visiting Paladins picked up a 67-60 victory over the Blue Hose inside the Templeton Center. Fifth-year senior Bryanna Brady tallied a career-high 19 points along with a career-best five blocks in the defeat.

Scoring the Game
- Furman got out to a quick start with the game's first six points before a Christina Kline triple and Bryanna Brady layup cut the Blue Hose deficit to one, 6-5 with 6:35 to play in the first quarter. The Paladins rattled off an 8-0 burst to push the lead to nine, 14-5 forcing a Blue Hose timeout with 4:29 to play in the first quarter. PC came out of the timeout fast with a 6-0 burst to cut it to a 14-11 Paladins lead in the final 2:30 of the first. PC cut it to one, 16-15 with 1:14 to play before a 6-0 run gave the guests a 22-15 lead after one.
- The Blue Hose came out of the second quarter gates firing on an 11-0 run to get to push in front 26-22 with 6:46 to play in the quarter and forcing a Paladin timeout. Furman got a quick layup out of the timeout before PC closed on a 7-1 run over the final 3:30 to take a 33-25 lead to the break. The Blue Hose were able to hold the Paladins to just 5% shooting in the second quarter pushing the hosts to an eight-point lead.
- The two teams traded baskets in the early going before Aubrie Kierscht's three gave the hosts a 13-point lead at 41-28 with 7:13 to play in the quarter. The guests used a 7-2 burst over the next three minutes to cut the deficit to eight, 43-35. The Blue Hose pushed the lead to 16, 52-36 with 2:22 to play before a 9-0 burst cut the PC advantage to 52-45 after three.
- Both teams got on the board early in the fourth with a 5-0 burst from PC giving the Blue Hose a 57-49 lead with 6:49 to play in the fourth. The Paladins responded with an 11-0 run over the next four minutes to take a 60-57 lead. The Blue Hose got it back to 62-60 with 31 seconds left before the Paladins closed by scoring the next five points to take the game 67-60 on Friday night.

- Brady led the Blue Hose with a career-high 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting as she grabbed seven rebounds and added a career-high five blocks. Kierscht added 14 points in her first collegiate start on Friday, while Tilda Sjökvist had 11 points and dished out seven assists. Grace Van Rij led the Paladins with 19 points with Jaelyn Acker adding 16 and Sydney Ryan chipping in with 11. Ryan led Furman with 13 on the glass as Van Rij added a dozen rebounds. Furman had three players lead the way with a pair of assists.

- The Blue Hose posted a 37.3% (25-of-67) from the floor as Furman shot 33.8% (22-of-65) on Friday night. PC connected on seven threes compared to four from the Paladins. The guests connected on 19-of-29 at the line as PC buried 3-of-4 at the charity stripe. Furman outrebounds the Blue Hose 46-29. PC tallied seven blocks compared to five from the Paladins. The Blue Hose had 18 assists compared to eight from Furman.
Notables
- Brady tallied career-highs on Friday in points (19) and blocks with five as she also made a career-high nine field goals.
- Brady's five blocks are the most by a Blue Hose in a game since last February when Jade Compton had four against Winthrop.
- Sjökvist posted her first 10+ point performance of her career with 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting. The Huskvarna, Sweden native also tallied a career-best with seven assists upping her previous best from five on Monday night.
- Kierscht added 14 points in her first collegiate start for the Blue Hose. In the contest, the Blue Hose freshman made four threes and pulled down four rebounds.
- PC tallied 18 assists which is the most in a game for the Blue Hose since Dec. 15, 2021, when the Blue Hose totaled 21 against Piedmont.
- The Blue Hose also only recorded 12 turnovers which matches the fewest in a game since Feb. 26, 2022, when PC had eight against Radford.
