Presbyterian for only the third time in the program's Division I era, the Blue Hose won their season-opening game with a 76-42 win over Carolina University at the Templeton Center this past Monday. Four Blue Hose players scored in double-figures led by
Trevon Reddish-Rhone's 14 points.
Crosby James in his first game as a Blue Hose scored 13 points.
Owen McCormack scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Freshman
Jalen Forrest scored 12 points off the bench and fellow freshman
Jaylen Peterson grabbed nine rebounds in the game.

Points in the Paint
The Blue Hose scored 48 points in the paint in the win over Carolina University. PC finished the game with a 48-18 advantage in points in the paint over Carolina University.
Coach Ferrell
Quinton Ferrell is in his fourth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 52 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks that are coaching their alma maters.
Preseason All-Big South
Senior forward
Winston Hill was voted Preseason Second Team All-Big South. Last season, Hill finished fourth in the Big South Conference in rebounding averaging 6.5 boards per game. He tallied three double-figure rebounds games while grabbing at least six boards in 21 games. In the 2021-22 season, he averaged 12.2 points per game while recording 17 double-figure scoring games.
Opening the Season at Home
For the third time in Presbyterian's Division I era, the Blue Hose began the season with a home game. The last time that happened before Monday's game, Presbyterian collected a 73-71 home win over Furman on November 11, 2016. The Blue Hose defeated Montreat at home, 103-83, in their 2011-12 season-opening game. With the win over Carolina University, Presbyterian is 14-1 in their home opening games while a member of Division I.
Presbyterian-The Citadel Series
Thursday's game will be the 75
th meeting between Presbyterian and The Citadel. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series, 49-25. In their last meeting, Presbyterian defeated The Citadel at home, 74-70, in overtime, on November 15, 2021. Reddish-Rhone scored 14 points, McCormack scored 13 points off the bench, and Hill tallied a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds in the Blue Hose win.

The Bulldogs began the season with an 80-69 win on the road at Clemson this past Monday. Austin Ash led four Bulldogs in double-figures with 19 points.
