Lacey Grabs Win in Setback against Catamounts

Clinton, S.C.. –  Senior Beth Lacey picked up straight-set singles victory but the Presbyterian College women's tennis team fell on Sunday afternoon 6-1 to Western Carolina at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts got out to a quick start with a 6-1 win at No.2 doubles before clinching the doubles point on Sunday with a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles.
- Jessica Leeman and Alexa Wilson grabbed a 7-5 doubles win at the top spot after Western Carolina earned the doubles point.
- Western Carolina pushed the lead to 2-0 with a straight-set victory at No.2 singles.
- The Blue Hose got on the board with a straight-set victory at the No. 5 singles from Lacey.
- WCU got back ahead to 3-1 with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles before clinching the match at No. 6 singles.
- The Catamounts added a pair of three-set wins at No. 1 and 4 singles to earn the 6-1 victory on Sunday afternoon.
 
NOTES
- Lacey improved to a team-best 5-2 in singles with her win on Sunday.
- The match was delayed 90 minutes due to rain earlier in the day.
