Blue Hose Play Belmont Abbey and Queens on the Road this Weekend

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose men's tennis team (3-6) makes another weekend road trip to North Carolina with road matches at Belmont Abbey and Queens, February 19-20. The Blue Hose begin the weekend at Belmont Abbey this Saturday, February 19 at 2 p.m. Presbyterian concludes the weekend at Queens on Sunday, February 20 at 1:30 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Presbyterian defeated Davidson on the road, 5-2, last Sunday. Max Benson, Dusan Milanovic, Javier Matos, Sebastian Dominguez, and Nicholas McKinney all posted singles wins.

NATIONALLY-RANKED
Presbyterian's top doubles tandem of Benson and Milanovic entered the ITA doubles rankings at No. 49 last week. They have recorded four wins this season including a 6-3 win over the ninth-ranked doubles team in the nation, Charlotte's Coy Simon and Stefanos Savva.
 
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY HONORS
Presbyterian has had four players capture Big South weekly honors this season. This week, Benson was named Big South Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career. Dominguez (January 19) and Georgije Babic (February 2) garnered league player of the week honors this season as well. Milanovic earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors on January 19.
 
SCOUTING BELMONT ABBEY CRUSADERS
Belmont Abbey was picked as the favorite in the Conference Carolina preseason poll. Kai Lloveras leads the Crusaders with 13 singles wins. Nelson Stafford and Andres Golindano have each recorded 10 wins apiece.
 
Presbyterian defeated Belmont Abbey, 6-1, in their last meeting which came at the Templeton Center Tennis Courts, March 27, 2021. The Blue Hose swept the doubles matches to captured the doubles point. Former Blue Hose standout Alberto Conde and current Presbyterian players Teo Cariov, Dominguez, Babic, and Matos were victorious in singles play.
 
SCOUTING QUEENS ROYALS
Queens began their season with a 7-0 win at Newberry on February 12. Queens plays North Carolina A&T at home on Friday, February 18.  
 
Sunday's match will be the first-ever meeting between Presbyterian and Queens.
