Four Double-Figure Scorers; Blue Hose Finish Regular Season with Road Win at Radford

RADFORD, Va. – Behind four double-figure scorers, the Presbyterian College women's basketball team defeated the Radford Highlanders, 61-57, on the road.

Coach Sharp's Thoughts 
Really proud of how our team closed out the game today. We started a little slow and responded by playing together & getting the ball inside. We challenged our team before the game to build from our last win and it feels like we did just that. It's great to see us playing confident and together at just the right time.

Scoring the Game
- Presbyterian's Tionna Carter scored the game's first two points. Then, Radford went on a 14-2 run taking a 14-4 lead at the 5:50 mark of the first quarter.
- Presbyterian outscored Radford, 9-8, over the rest of the first quarter.
- After trailing 26-15 with 5:11 left in the second quarter, the Blue Hose behind the scoring of Jade Compton, A'Nyah Barker, Bryanna Brady, and Maleia Bracone went on an 11-0 scoring run cutting Radford's lead to 26-25 with 2:38 left in the first half.
- A layup by Tionna Carter tied the score at 28 with one and a half minutes left in the half, the Highlanders scored the final five points of the half taking a 33-28 halftime lead.
- PC scored seven of the first nine points of the third quarter tying the score at 35 when Brady scored inside with 5:51 on the clock.
- With 3:44 on the third-quarter clock, Nyah Willis knocked down two free throws giving the Blue Hose a 39-38 lead. Willis connected on a layup with five seconds left in the quarter pushing the Blue Hose's lead to 46-43 heading into the fourth quarter.
- Compton knocked down a jumper giving the Blue Hose a 48-43 lead just ten seconds into the fourth quarter.
- Radford tied the score at 50 with two and a half minutes gone in the quarter. Presbyterian answered with a 5-0 scoring run behind a basket by Carter and a three by Compton.
- Radford went on a 7-0 run taking a two-point lead with three minutes on the clock.
- The Blue Hose finished the game on a 6-0 run with a basket by Willis and two baskets from Carter to close out the 61-57 win.

Players of the Game
Jade Compton scored 17 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the field and 3-for-5 shooting from beyond the three-point arc. Compton also grabbed four rebounds with a season-high three steals.
- Tionna Carter scored 15 points while grabbing seven rebounds.
- Nyah Willis contributed 12 points with seven rebounds and four assists to the Blue Hose's efforts.
- Maleia Bracone chipped in with 12 points while also grabbing four rebounds and dishing out four assists.

Stats of the Game
- The Blue Hose quartet of Bracone, Carter, Compton, and Willis combined to score 55 of Presbyterian's 61 points.
-  Presbyterian dominated in the paint with a 34-12 advantage on points in the paint.
- Presbyterian's defense forced 15 Radford turnovers which led to 18 points off those turnovers.
- Bracone finished one off of her career-high as she tied the team-high with four assists.
- With her seven made field goals, Jade Compton set the DI single-season record for field goals with now 163 on the season. She passed Cortney Storey at 159 who set the mark during the 2017-18 season.

Presbyterian will return to action in the first round of the Big South Conference Tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina this Tuesday, March 1. The Blue Hose will find out their first-round opponent when the bracket is released later tonight.
