"It was a really good day for our team this afternoon. Our team stayed focus throughout the each and every match. It feels good to start 1-0 in league play. It is a quick turnaround on the road in Greensboro against A&T and hopefully we are ready to go again."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- PC controlled the doubles points on Saturday winning all three matches 6-0. The Blue Hose duos were Jessica Leeman/Claudia Sanchez, Beth Lacey/Zeba Jamal and Lucianna Piedra/Valentina De Sousa.
- Lacey pushed the Blue Hose lead to 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.
- The Blue Hose edge was pushed to 3-0 when Sanchez earned her own 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 2 singles spot.
- PC clinched Saturday's match with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 spot by Leeman.
- De Sousa has a 3-0 lead in the opening set before her match was called after the Blue Hose had clinched the match.
 
NOTES
- Saturday marked the second straight season the Blue Hose have opened league play with a win after a 7-0 shutout last spring against Longwood.
- Sanchez and Lacey both earned their team-best sixth singles wins
- Piedra paired with Sanchez earned their fourth doubles win at the No. 2 spot.
- All three of the Blue Hose wins this season have been shutouts.

- The Blue Hose wrap up the weekend on Sunday evening with a 5:30 p.m. first serve in Greensboro against N.C. A&T.
