Blue Hose Fall Late to Eagles

CLINTON, S.C. – Georgia Southern used a four-run ninth and a pair of runs in the 10th to rally past the Presbyterian College baseball team 9-7 on Tuesday night at the PC Baseball Complex. Sophomore Jack Gorman led the Blue Hose offensively with three hits in the defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams were held off the scoreboard until the sixth on Tuesday when the Eagles tallied three runs in the frame to take the 3-0 lead.
- The Blue Hose quickly responded in their half of the sixth with a two-run double from Dalton Reeves before a sac fly from Brody Fahr evened the game at three.
- Gorman recorded an RBI single in the seventh along with a fielder's choice from Reeves to push the Blue Hose lead to 5-3 after seven.
- Kyle Decker picked up an RBI double in the eighth which was followed up with a stolen base an Eagles error to push the lead to 7-3 after eight.
- In the ninth, Georgia Southern rallied with a three-run homer before a Blue Hose error allowed the guests to tie it at seven.
- The Eagles kept the pressure up with a pair of RBI singles in the 10th to propel them to the 9-7 win on Tuesday night.

NOTABLES
- Gorman picked up his team-high 12th multi-hit game with his three hits on Tuesday night. Eric Toth added his ninth multi-hit contest of the season with his two hits as well.
- Toth has hits in 10 straight games which is currently tops for PC.
- Fahr reached base safely three times with a double and a pair of walks to extend his reached base streak to 24 games in a row.
- Darien Rorabeck matched his career-high with three scoreless innings in relief for the Blue Hose. He recorded his second contest with three strikeouts which is also a season-high for the senior.

UP NEXT
- PC hits the road once again beginning on Thursday for a three-game series at Longwood with first pitch set for 6 p.m… The series continues with a 6 p.m. first pitch on Friday before a 2 p.m. start on Saturday in the series finale.
