Biography

2024: Started on the mound in 14 games during the 2024 season as the Blue Hose's Friday starter... set the program's all-time record with 122 strikeouts in a single season... his 2.67 ERA landed him fourth in the school's all-time record book and first in the DI era... On April 5 Eagen threw 14 punches against Radford, setting the record for most strikeouts in a single game in program history... Big South Pitcher of the Year... First Team All-Big South... Perfect Game All-American... ABCA/Rawlings All-American... ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-Atlantic... Six time Big South Pitcher of the Week... Drafted in the third round of the 2024 MLB Draft as the 102 overall pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

2023: Saw action on the mound in five games getting the start in three of those outings… made season-debut out of the bullpen against Alabama State (April 25) with a pair of strikeouts… tallied a strikeout in a brief appearance against USC Upstate (April 29)… made first start of the season with 2.2 innings pitched at #11 Miami (Fla.) (May 7)… tallied season-high six strikeouts against Longwood (May 14)… finished the season with 2.1 innings pitched in start at Radford (May 20)…

2022: Appeared in 16 games as he made starts in 10 of those games… finished third on the team with 50 strikeouts in his 43.2 innings of work… earned his first collegiate win in a six inning start against Manhattan (Feb. 26) where he allowed two runs and struck out six… struck out season-high seven in first start of career at UNF (Feb. 20)… earned a save in a scoreless inning of work against Winthrop (April 24)… totaled 36 strikeouts over his first seven outings of his college career…

Before PC: He's ranked 17th amongst RHP in North Carolina according to Prep Baseball Report… during his sophomore season he was 3-1 over eight appearances with a 1.25 ERA in 28 2/3 innings… pitching for Tri-State Arsenal he was 5-0 in 11 appearances during the 2020 summer with a 2.34 ERA and 58 strikeouts… during the 2020 season his high school team was ranked 10th in the nation by MaxPreps… off the field he was a part of the National Society of High School Scholars…

Personal: Daniel Eagen was born in Raleigh, N.C. to Bill and Dina Eagen… he chose to come to PC because it's the perfect fit for him. He loved the small school environment, and he felt he can create more meaningful bonds than if he went to a bigger school. The coaching staff was super welcoming to him and he can't wait to be a part of the Blue Hose family…he intends to major in either data analysis or business...
