Blue Hose Drop Sunday Match to Mocs

CLINTON, S.C... –  The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped its final non-conference match of the 2022 season on Sunday with a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Chattanooga at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

"It was a tough match today. The team played extremely hard and battled on every court. In the end just a couple of matches didn't go our way. We will get an off day and then be prepared to finish off the regular season against two good league opponents."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mocs got out to an early advantage with a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles before a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles to take the 1-0 lead.
- Jessica Leeman and Claudia Sanchez were ahead 5-4 in their match before it was called since the guests clinched the doubles point.
- Chattanooga pushed the lead to 2-0 with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles before a 3-0 lead was gained by the guests with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.
- Beth Lacey got the Blue Hose on the board with a straight-set win at No. 5 singles. The Mocs clinched the match at No. 2 singles with a three-set win.
- The guests added a three-setter at No. 3 and Zeba Jamal earned a three-set win of her own to push it to a 5-2 finish.

UP NEXT
- The Blue Hose are back in action on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. for the home regular season finale against Gardner-Webb.
