Women's Tennis Suffers Defeat in League Finale at Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C... –  The Presbyterian College women's tennis team fell in its regular-season finale on Thursday at UNC Asheville as the host Bulldogs defeated the Blue Hose 7-0 at the Asheville Racquet Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Asheville got the early advantage with a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles before Lucianna Piedra/Valentina De Sousa won at No. 3 doubles to force a decisive set.
- The hosts won 7-6 at the No. 2 spot to take the early 1-0 edge.
- The Bulldogs quickly jumped to a 3-0 advantage in the match with straight-set wins at No. 1 & 5.
- UNC Asheville clinched the match in straight sets at No. 3.
- PC won a set at No. 2, 4 & 6 singles but the Bulldogs rallied in the third sets of each match to take a 7-0 win over the Blue Hose on Thursday afternoon.

UP NEXT
- The Blue Hose will await their seeding for the 2022 Big South Championship set to begin as early as April 14th with first round matches being played at higher seeded courts.
